Dynamics of Reputation

چکیده

To enforce security without user enrollment, trust (or reputation) systems were proposed to use experience as crucial information to support cooperation as well as for security enforcement mechanisms. However, use of trust introduces very difficult problems that still discourage from exploitation of trust for security mechanisms. The ability to change trust quickly and react effectively to changes in environment and user behaviour is profound for usability of mechanisms built on top of trust. Dempster-Shafer theory was proposed as a suitable theoretical model for trust computation. Here, we define general requirements for reputation dynamics and demonstrate that DempsterShafer theory properties are not as good as is widely thought. On the contrary, simple formulae work.

A Study on Productivity Model of Supply Chain in Industrial Units by System Dynamic Approach

In this decade, due to the current competitive environment, reputation of industrial brands is markedly dependent upon theperformance of their supply chain. Therefore, it is necessary to examinethe factors affecting their supply chain so as to increase the competitivenessof their chain. Productivity is among the most important factorsin the advancement of industry and its evaluation requires the...

The leading eight: social norms that can maintain cooperation by indirect reciprocity.

The theory of indirect reciprocation explains the evolution of cooperation among unrelated individuals, engaging in one-shot interaction. Using reputation, a player acquires information on who are worth cooperating and who are not. In a previous paper, we formalized the reputation dynamics, a rule to assign a binary reputation (good or bad) to each player when his action, his current reputation...

Global analyses of evolutionary dynamics and exhaustive search for social norms that maintain cooperation by reputation.

Reputation formation is a key to understanding indirect reciprocity. In particular, the way to assign reputation to each individual, namely a norm that describes who is good and who is bad, greatly affects the possibility of sustained cooperation in the population. Previously, we have exhaustively studied reputation dynamics that are able to maintain a high level of cooperation at the ESS. Howe...

Reputation for Quality by Simon Board

We propose a model of firm reputation in which a firm can invest or disinvest in product quality and the firm’s reputation is defined as the market’s belief about this quality. We analyze the relationship between a firm’s reputation and its investment incentives, and derive implications for reputational dynamics. Reputational incentives depend on the specification of market learning. When consu...

Reputation for Quality∗

We propose a new model of firm reputation where product quality is persistent and determined by the firm’s past investments. Reputation is then modeled directly as the market belief about quality. We analyze how investment incentives depend on the firm’s reputation and derive implications for reputational dynamics. Reputational incentives depend on the specification of market learning. When con...

University of Groningen Put Your Money Where Your Mouth

We present DIAL, a model of group dynamics and opinion dynamics. It features dialogues, in which agents gamble about reputation points. Intra-group radicalisation of opinions appears to be an emergent phenomenon. We position this model within the theoretical literature on opinion dynamics and social influence. Moreover, we investigate the effect of argumentation on group structure by simulation...
